Shopping for a Pokémon Trading Card Game booster box? The set name is only the starting point. Before choosing a product, check the edition, language, box format, stated pack configuration and the details of the individual listing. This checklist will help you compare products more confidently and understand what a booster box does—and does not—promise.
1. Confirm the exact set and release
Pokémon TCG products can look similar while belonging to different expansions, special collections or release waves. Read the complete product title and description, including the set name and any set code shown. If you are collecting a particular expansion, make sure the listing names that exact release rather than relying on artwork or a short product label alone.
Set details matter when you are completing a collection, comparing cards from different expansions or looking for a particular product format. When a listing uses both a product name and a set abbreviation, check that the two identify the same release.
2. Check the language and edition
Language can change the product you receive. English and Japanese products, for example, may have different names, pack sizes or configurations. Look for an explicit language or edition statement in the product description. Do not assume a product is English just because the store page is written in English.
If the language is important to your collection, contact the store before ordering when the listing does not make it clear. Keep the product page and any written confirmation for your records.
3. Compare the product format—not just the artwork
A booster box is not the same format as an Elite Trainer Box, collection box, bundle or case. These products can share a set or visual theme but contain different items. A case may contain several individual boxes, while a single booster box is one retail box. An Elite Trainer Box may include accessories as well as booster packs.

- Booster box: Check the number of packs and the number of cards per pack stated for that specific release.
- Elite Trainer Box: Review the listing for pack count, promo cards, sleeves, dice, storage and other included accessories.
- Collection or special box: Check the named promos, packs, oversized cards or other contents described for that product.
- Case: Confirm how many individual boxes are included. A case quantity is not the same as one box.
Use the configuration in the individual listing as your reference. Pack counts and contents can differ between sets and product types, so avoid applying the specifications of one release to another.
4. Understand random pack contents
Booster packs have randomized contents. A box or pack does not guarantee a particular Pokémon, character, rarity, alternate-art card or other specific pull unless the product description explicitly says that item is included. Check whether a named promo is guaranteed as part of the product configuration or whether a card is simply shown as an example of the set.
Buy sealed products for the packs and stated contents—not as a promise of a particular valuable card or a specific resale result. Pulls, rarity distribution and secondary-market prices are not guaranteed by a product listing.
5. Read the packaging and condition details
Before purchase, review any statement about packaging, condition, seals or damage. Product photographs are useful, but the written description should explain what is being sold. If factory-sealed condition, box condition or another detail is important to you and is not stated clearly, ask the store for clarification before completing the order.
Keep your order confirmation and the packaging after delivery until you are satisfied with the order. If an item arrives damaged or materially different from its listing, take clear photographs and contact customer support promptly.
6. Check the seller’s delivery and return information
Check the delivery destination, estimated handling and transit time, shipping charge and return conditions before checkout. TIBCHIT’s current Shipping Policy explains its U.S. delivery coverage, free standard shipping and estimated delivery timeframe. The Returns & Refunds Policy explains how to request help for eligible returns, damaged items or incorrect orders.
For a question about a specific product, include its full title when contacting TIBCHIT customer support. This helps the team identify the exact listing you mean.
